We are Canadian professors leading the Skyripe Research Group at Toronto Metropolitan University. We specialize in developing Agtech for the global berry industry, and innovate to create sustainable and resilient agriculture today. We offer experimentally validated vertical farming technologies and solutions for indoor farming; our Skyripe Vertifarms system brings cutting-edge technology to indoor vegetable growing.

Rooted in the traditions of family farming, we humanize agriculture through technological advancements, aiming for sustainable prosperity in farming communities across Canada & beyond.

Our history

Lesley Campbell and Habiba Bougherara started working together on indoor agricultural technologies, developing light fixtures and recipes for indoor horticulture.

2017

The team was funded to work on an environmentally-controlled grow platform that exhibits multilevel control of environmental variables.

2019

The team of horticultural scientists, led by Lesley Campbell and Habiba Bougherara, developed a groundbreaking method for growing indoor raspberries.

2022

The invention of BeeFree Pollinator, an indoor vertical platform that pollinates, reducing the need for manual labor, offering a scalable and eco-friendly way to boost productivity and sustainability
